about

A favourite of Elaine’s, the first jig was composed by the East Clare fiddle player, Paddy Canny, who recorded it on his 1997 solo album released on Cló Iar-Chonnacht, Paddy Canny: Traditional Music from the Legendary East Clare Fiddler. ‘The New Home’ is a composition of the fiddler, composer and educator, Connie O’Connell, which we got from his 2014 collection, Bóithrín na Smaointe. From Cill na Martra, Co. Cork, a parish located between Macroom and Ballyvourney, Connie is a close childhood friend of Elaine’s mum’s family and has been a great friend of the band for many years. The third jig, which Brogan brought to the band, is by another Co. Clare musician, box player, lilter and composer Bobby Gardiner, who recorded it on his 1998 album of the same name.

Teresa Connolly (fiddle), Brogan McAuliffe (concertina), Elma McElligott (flute), Katie Quinn (accordion), Pete Quinn (piano), Karen Ryan (fiddle).
